Boat Trips in Tivat

A boat trip is the easiest way to see Montenegro from the perspective of the Venetian captains who once sailed these waters. From Tivat, just a few hours can take you to Perast, the Blue Cave and coves with no road access.

Why the Bay of Kotor Is Ideal for Boat Trips

The bay is sheltered by mountains and almost cut off from the open sea by the narrow Verige Strait. Waves inside rarely exceed half a metre, so a trip can still go ahead on days when the open Adriatic is rough. This also makes the bay comfortable for guests who are prone to seasickness.

The water warms in May and remains warm until the end of October. It is clear in the coves, with the seabed visible several metres below near the rocks.

What the Trip Is Like

Arrive at the quay in Porto Montenegro marina fifteen minutes before departure. The captain gives a short safety briefing, then the boat follows the agreed route. We stop wherever you wish, whether to swim, take photographs or simply relax at anchor.

There is shade, water and ice, masks and snorkels, and life jackets for everyone on board. You may bring your own food and drinks or order catering in advance.

How Long It Takes

  • 2 hours: sightseeing around the bay or a sunset cruise;
  • 4 hours: Perast and the islands, or swimming in the coves of Luštica;
  • 6 hours: the Blue Cave, Mamula and Žanjice Bay;
  • 8 hours: the entire bay with shore visits or a trip to the Budva Riviera.

The price is for the entire boat rather than per person, making it especially good value for a group.
