Boat Tours in Montenegro
A sightseeing tour by boat reveals what cannot be seen from the shore. From the deck, the entire Bay of Kotor opens up at once: mountains, historic towns at the water's edge and bell towers that guided captains for centuries.
Where We Go
- Perast and the islands. The man-made island of Our Lady of the Rocks with its church and museum, beside the natural island of St George. Go ashore in Perast with an hour of free time.
- Blue Cave. A grotto on Luštica where sunlight passes through the water and illuminates it from within. We enter by boat and swim inside.
- Mamula Island. A circular Austrian fortress at the entrance to the bay. On the way, see the tunnels in the cliffs near Rose that once sheltered submarines.
- Herceg Novi. A town of stairways with two fortresses and a waterfront best reached by boat.
- Sveti Stefan. An island hotel on a sandy isthmus and the country's most recognisable view. Available on fast boats.
What Is Included
A boat with a captain, fuel, life jackets, insurance, water and ice on board. A guide who explains the history of the bay along the way can be added on request.
When to Go
The sea is calmer and popular locations are quieter in the morning. Evening brings softer light and better photographs. Dolphins are most often seen in the first half of the day and beyond the bay.
